Robert Hodges – Managing Director
Chartered Geologist and Specialist in Land Condition
Robert has over 30 years’ experience of site investigations, assessment and reporting as well as expertise in foundation design, earthworks and contaminated land remediation.

No. 1695), an accreditation awarded by passing an industry-specific examination and demonstrating a high level of competence, experience and skill. Robert is also a CL:AIRE Qualified Person (#53 – QP006) Code of Practice: Definition of Waste.
Robert liaises with clients and manages projects – preparing proposals and designing the site investigations that form the basis of risk assessments and construction design. He also provides technical advice regarding land acquisition.
He is the co-author of CIRIA Special Publication 124 – ‘Barriers, liners and cover systems for containment and control of land contamination’.
Ian Brooks – Director
Chartered Geologist
Ian has over 20 years’ experience in the design and supervision of ground investigations and providing clients with geotechnical and geoenvironmental advice.

Read moreHe is responsible for providing advice at pre-contract/tender stage, with particular emphasis on identifying alternative and value-engineering solutions and potential ground-related risks and solutions to design and build contractors. Ian also provides advice and liaises with the clients during the construction and post-construction stages.
He has experience in earthworks and remediation schemes and he specialises in the design and management of earthworks schemes that focus on the retention and re-use of materials, thus avoiding large waste disposal and materials importation costs.
Ian is also a CL:AIRE Qualified Person (#62 – QP182) Code of Practice: Definition of Waste.
John Whittle – Associate Director
Chartered Civil Engineer and Specialist in Land Condition
John has over 35 years’ experience in the industry and particular expertise in the redevelopment of challenging sites, including contaminated land remedial works, the stabilisation of mine workings, mineral extraction and restoration and providing solutions to unstable slopes, together with foundation design and temporary works..

John has acted as an expert witness at planning enquiries for residential developments, contaminated land remediation and mineral extraction proposals and has published a number of papers in the promotion of best practice, value engineering and the use of novel approaches in the consideration of ‘difficult’ sites.
Gareth Fry – Principal Geoenvironmental Engineer
Chartered Geologist
Gareth has over 20 years’ experience in geoenvironmental ground engineering and project management, liaising with both clients and regulators.

Gareth has been involved in the supervision and validation of several major remediation schemes.
Caroline Walliss – Senior Project Engineer
Chartered Geologist
Caroline has over 15 years’ experience in site investigations, project management and the supervision of large-scale engineering schemes.

She is responsible for designing and undertaking complex site investigations for a variety of clients on both brownfield and greenfield sites and has been involved in the design, supervision and validation of a number of large earthworks and remediation schemes.
